Spinach and Carrot:

Spinach juice in addition to carrot juice is considered highly effective in the treatment of gastritis. You should mix 200 ml of spinach juice with 300ml of carrot juice and drink it regularly for a few days. Both contain a high amount of Vitamin A and other useful vitamins and minerals which help to reduce inflammation of stomach mucosa.

Coconut water:

It is a highly beneficial food remedy. When you are on a complete fast for gastritis, it provides necessary rest to the stomach with vitamins and minerals to nourish the body. You can be only on coconut water for 24 hours during fasting.

Rice gruel:

It is also famous as Congee and is one kind of porridge. It is another effective home remedy, especially in acute gastritis attacks. It can be cooked with one tablespoon of rice in 3 cups of water and boil it. When properly cooked, take it. You should vigorously chew it to increase the greater flow of gastric juice.

Water Therapy

To clean the bowel warm water enema should be done daily as constipation may be associated with gastritis due to some causative factors. It is helpful to eliminate the toxins from the body faster.

Dry friction and sponge bath are also beneficial.

When you are on fasting for treatment of gastritis, fruits are very helpful, provides nourishment and it includes apple, banana, orange, grapes, grapefruit, etc. You can also take steamed vegetables, nuts, and wholemeal bread or whole wheat chappati. Excessive use of this at a time especially fruits like orange should be avoided.

  • Meal should be taken at least two or three hours before going to bed during the night.
  • 10 to 12 glasses of water is the minimum requirement during a day. Water should not be taken during the meals except buttermilk and some fruit juices as it dilutes digestive juices and thus delay the digestion.
  • Chew every bolus properly and during meals, you should be away from emotions like anger, sadness, mental tension, etc. as it disturbs the whole system. Take your meal in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
